Computer/Monitor Recycling Program
Purpose
To provide community adults with the adequate skills needed to enter the Electonics Recycling Industry and
become self sufficient.
The Computer/Monitor Recycling Program was established through our innovative organization - Eastside Redevelopment Task Force, Inc. where our motto is to "build our community one block at a time".
In efforts to economically strengthen citizens of our community and to provide an opportunity to recylce used or outdated electonic equipment, we are proposing to empower underserved adults with tools
to work in the Computer/Monitor Recycling Program.
In cooperation with Electronics Recycling Techologies ( ERT ) and Sunnking Associates, LLC. the program will provide the skill sets required for electronics recycling technicians which are applicable to many other industrial and commercial assembly operations and thus are desirable skills to be acquired for the purpose of securing employment in a variety of industries..
Instruction will be given to ERTF in proper procedure of dismantling monitors and TV's, sorting all recovered products, staging and loading of material for shipment and proper safety procedures.
ERT will provide a llist of tolls and equipment needed to properly manage this training program.
ERT will provide periodic supervision during the duration of the pilot program.
ERT will make available approximately 700 large and medium sized TV's and 200 monitors to be dismantled.
ERT will provide pallets and shipping boxes to be used by ERTF for packaging the parts created in the disassembly process.
ERT will pay to ERTF the sum equal to $1.40 for each TV dismantled and $.85 for each monitor dismantled.
Unpon completion of the pilot program ERT and ERTF will audit the number of units diamantled and make any payment adjustments as required. ERT and ERTF will assess the project and prepare a Pilot Project Report which will detail the program, the job skills development and the time per unit required for the dismantling.
ERTF may, at it's discretion, expand it's recycling program to include computer repair and resale, electronics parts for resale or data destruction or storing.
